The rustling of robes and clomping of hurried feet echoed off the Palace pillars with the tinkling of laughter as the Highpriestess of Ra hurried along, letting out a squeal of joy when she heard her guard's running feet. Selentha had just began her game of hide-and-seek with her guard, Ancrete...again.
"PRIESSTES! RA DAMN SELENTHA! GET BACK HERE!" She heard Ancrete yell as she rounded a corner.
Selentha lifted the edges of her robe slightly so she could run faster, her breath in slight hitches as she turned quickly around a corner, twirling slightly in mid-run to avoid a guard walking by.
The guard stared in amazement at her gracefulness before realizing it was the Priestess.
"Sorry Guardsmen! Please have a nice day" she called out as she ran off towards the courtyard, waving with a slender hand and her usual joyful smile.
The guardsmen looked at her for a few seconds before walking away, giving a quiet sigh as he murmured something about never a dull day in the palace when it came to games and running priestesses.
Selentha continued to run, sliding across the limestone tiling into a halt behind a pillar, resting her body against it as she caught her breath, pink lips parted into a breathless smile. This was always so much fun to tease her guard.Silver-blue irises searched around for any sign of Ancrete. She gazed up at the ceiling, her breath slowly coming back.
"I...need to ..find another spot.." She said to herself.
Selentha stood back up straight, listening carefully for running feet before she lifted her robes slightly and began to run again, her giggles coming back with her smile. Such good exercise! The sky was a beautiful hue of blue and there was not a cloud in the skies as Ra shined down upon the palace, the winds gentle to give a nice breeze. It was perfect weather to take a nice stroll around the palace or....to play another game of run-and catch a blonde-haired priestess as Ancrete called it, she prefered to call it Hide-and-Go seek.
He walked briskly down the hall, a usual stotic expression on his face as he mummbled about the stupidity of those who worked around him. Everyday of his busy life, he had such strong desires to slaughter the other preists of the palace. Well, except for his blond haired partner.
"Never a dull moment with her at least.." he muttered to himself, turning yet another corner. Some times he wondered how he never got lost in this place but then he could tie that to his superior knowledge and brains.
A flash of gold caught his eye and he turned to see his hyper-active partner running about, panting and giggling. And with a sigh he stopped walking.
"Partner, are you torturing your "dear protecter" again?" he asked with slight sarcasm.
For the longest time he had not liked that Ancrete fellow, because he had taken over the god's job of protecting the young preistess. But that had faded after a bit, because it wasn't quite as tiring each day when he didn't have to chase her around the palace.
Selentha squeaked as she didnt notice the tall, broad figure before her. Rubbing her nose she made a face, her eyes closed tightly before opening them in surprise when she heard the voice.
"Partner, are you torturing your "dear protecter" again?" Sethos asked with little concern, the imfamous god-like smirk of his making its way to his lips.
Selentha gulped and slowly smiled, showing white teeth with glee.
"Its not torturing, its playing games..and hes it....all the time.." she smiled and giggled,"Besides, hes a guard so it certainly cant be too bad for him! A warm up! " she chirped.
Her eyes wandered behind Sethos in case of hearing the shout of her name and loud clapping of feet hurrying to find her. She looked back up to her partner and smiled,
"Well since he wont find me anytime soon, you can hide me in your cloak...hehe.."she smiled mischeviously and huddled closer, flinging the cloak up and scurring inside with glee as wrapped her arms around his waist and burying her face in his chest.
"Haha..no one will find me now.." she whispered
He sighed and shook his head a bit, but walked a bit more slowly none the less, so she wouldn't fall behind. Some times he wondered why they got along so well, but then again she had changed him into a much more....enjoyable person on many levels.
"You are such a trouble maker.." he mummbled slightly. He was about to lecture her on not using the proper methods of torture, when a familiar (hysterical) guard came flying around the corner.
"SETHOS!Uh..I mean..High Preist..Have you seen Selen?"
He let loose his bored expression and shook his head not really stopping his walking. "Afraid not.." he said simply, nudging the giggling blond to signal she was being to loud.
Selentha shut her mouth quickly when she heard the familiar voice of Ancrete, covering her lips with small hands as she stood completely still against Sethos in hopes to not be noticed.
"Afraid not.." Sethos said simply as he tapped Selen's head, signaling that Ancrete was leaving. She heard Ancrete sigh in frustration before mummbling something about hyper-blondes who have no life but to tease their guards as he ran off in another direction, his hurried footsteps slowly beginning to echo in the distance.
"PHEW! That was a close one! Right Sethos?" she peeked her head out from under the large robes, smiling cheerfully.
She slipped out from underneath the robes, giving Sethos a warm smile as she leaned back slightly,"Ya know..since we have nothing much to do today, how about we go to the courtyard and catch up?" she grinned.
The skies were a robin's egg blue, its brightness causing Selen to shield slightly as she lead the way towards the courtyard.
He glanced off into the air for a moment, as if thinking on it. Even though he already knew there was no declining. If he ever said no, she would just follow him and pout until he said yes anyways. He glanced back at her with a simple nod, walking along beside her.
'Although I will admit, I would wrather be with her then doing work..' he thought, a small smile touching his face breifly before dissappearing into his bored expression once more.
"You know, some day he will just stay in one spot and not chase you.." he said casually. He knew about the mutual attraction betweem them, but even he thought there was a bit to much teasing going on. On her part at least.
"You know, some day he will just stay in one spot and not chase you.."He replied dully as she squeezed his hand.
"Oh shush, he'll never stop because he knows Baxton will be throughly furious if Im not being guarded for as long as the sun is in the sky" Selentha replied as she continued walking towards the courtyard with Sethos in tow.
Once upon their arrival, Selentha's lips curled into a smile before sitting down onto a stone bench with a soft plop. Leaning back, she sighed softly and squinted as she stared up into the clear blue sky, the sun high and bright as it shed its basking warmth onto the city.Such a beautiful day indeed, the flowers bloomed with crisp, vibrant colors of various colors and designs.
Selentha's eyes wandered back to Sethos as he sat down next to her, his large hands balanced on either side of him and dark sapphire orbs closed. She smiled serenly before leaning over and kissing his cheek affectionatly.
"Hey Sethos! Ya know its been...close to a year now since we've been partners ne?" she grinned.
He 'hmmed' slightly in response, enjoying the peace and sun light. This was the perfect time of day for him, the sun was not to high, and the breeze would soon be picking up. Not many people were allowed in here, so there was always quiet places to think.
"True.." he said quietly, turning slightly to stare at her, a lasting smile appearing.
Moments such as these were ones to be cherished. Between the work that needed to be done at the temple, and Ancrete's contant chasing games, there was hardly any time to spare for simple conversing.
"So..when you finally do stop making him chase you..Something tells me I am going to see very little of you.." he added with a slightly smirk, still watching her expressions.
(What happened last:)
"So..when you finally do stop making him chase you..Something tells me I am going to see very little of you.." Sethos replied as he looked over at her, his dark blues meeting her crystalline blue. He slowly smirked, his eyes reflecting something she couldnt quite point out. The comment left her thoughtful as she tilited her head and smiled innocently.
"What do you mean? PSH! That dummy is going to be chasing me until either I or him is sent to the grave fir-st..." she began and slowly a feeling of foreshadowing hit her, her eyes clouding over as she bit her lip. What was that feeling? She felt like a dagger stabbed her in the back as she softly coughed, shaking her head to rid of the thoughts.
"Well, I'll make sure to see you! Cause I dont think hes ever going to stop catching me! Thats for sure" she smirked victoriously.
Her smile grew soft as she watched a few stray petals dance with the wind, twirling around them in their own world. She sighed softly and looked up into the endless blue of the sky. What would happen when Ancrete stopped their chases? Would it be because he grew fed up? Or he left? Or even...No! Bad thoughts! She scrunched her face and shook her head vigerously.
"PRIESSTES! RA DAMN SELENTHA! GET BACK HERE!" She heard Ancrete yell as she rounded a corner.
