1. All attacks must be typed out as attempts against the other player. No excuses on this one or your character will be disqualified immediately and executed for breaking the rules of the palace. Examples are as follows:
+ WRONG! “Bob reached out and hit the creature in the face, sending blood sprawling everywhere and spraying the gore on the audience.” (Bob did not ATTEMPT the attack at all, thus the attack can be considered null and very void.)
+ RIGHT! “Bob reached out with his clawed paw, batting at the creature’s face in an attempt to make a connection between his claws and the hard flesh of the creature.” (Bob made an attempt and now Bob must wait to see if the other player dodged the attack. He did not simply rush into beating up the other character without consent.)
2. A character can only dodge three attacks in a row. After said three dodges, the character MUST take damage no matter what! This one is pretty self-explanatory and I will not take any excuses on this rule at all. You break the rule you suffer the consequences throughout the roleplay. Examples are as follows:
+ Predator did a spin jump into the air, spreading its wings and heaving greatly from the force it took to simply raise from the ground’s surface. Making a swooping motion from high in the air, Predator closed in on Prey. His claws reached out to scratch at the creature’s maw quickly. (This counts as one attack.)
+ Prey retaliated against this attack by choosing to lower quickly to the ground in order to dodge this attack swiftly. Prey then rose from the ducking position to make a split dash to the right, running toward one of the walls of the arena as if seeking help. (This was one dodge.)
+ Predator responded to the running Prey by flapping its wings to its entirety to catch up to the fast creature. Heaving a deep breath, fire emitted itself from its lungs as it used its fiery embers to scorch at the small Prey, trying to hit it square on. (Second attack.)
+ Prey continued to run, looking back over its shoulder to see what Predator was doing. Upon realizing that the fire was going to scorch his body, Prey jumped on the wall and propelled itself out of harms’ way of the fire. (Second dodge in a row.)
+ Predator rolled its eyes at its predicament with the Prey. The creature had to get tired sooner or later! Exhausted from taking flight, Predator settled itself on the terrain and eyed the running Prey. Taking one last chance, Predator settled for the spikes growing atop its head. The talons unsheathed from his skin and shot into the air, aiming for the Prey. This would hopefully not miss. (Third attack.)
+ Prey skittered about the ground quickly, trying its best to keep eyes on the large Predator at all times, much to its dismay. Predator seemed to lurch before spikes of all sized flew at Prey so quickly it could hardly register the fact. Prey then jumped high into the air, allowing a squeal to emit from its lungs. Having missed the spikes barely, Prey fell back to the ground in a tired heap. (Third, and final, dodge.)
+ Predator, quickly growing tired of this game of cat and mouse, decided that it was time to end this. Predator wanted food and Prey was just the right size and shape to fulfill Predator’s hunger. Predator’s jaw dropped, a molten lava ball beginning to form between its teeth as it focused on Prey entirely. Unleashing the large fire attack, Predator watched the ball of lava course toward the Prey. (Notice that Predator did not state whether or not the attack hit.)
+ Prey screeched, having tired itself out far too much to escape such a large attack. The fire scorched its fur and its blood began to boil, flesh melting away quickly. It was clear that Predator had won this battle for good. (No more dodged were allowed, thus Prey took damage.)
3. Notice that the roleplay examples above were very boring and oh so vague? I simply DO NOT allow such posts while I am in charge. Remember that people watch these threads and roleplay in these threads for excitement, gore and plotline. I expect AT LEAST FOUR GOOD PARAGRAPHS throughout each post. I don’t care if you have to describe what a freaking bug is doing during your move in the post; I want to see some well developed paragraphs that keep the plot moving. As long as I remain in watch over these battles, I will remain very stern about this rule.
4. No god-modding allowed! This means that your character cannot control another character’s actions or way of doing things during the roleplay. This rule will be of my top priority list and if I see that you are god-modding, powerplaying or anything of the sort… I will first PM you on the subject. If it so continues, I will personally verbally attack you in the thread to bring about some embarrassment. If it so continues, I will disqualify you from the battle and your character will possibly be executed. If I am feeling nice enough, I will personally teach you to roleplay myself.
5. Spell check! Grammar! Punctuation! There is a spell check on the forum just below the posting box as you reply to threads; use it. It is to my understanding that your computer must have Microsoft Word™ for a good reason. If I see bad spelling everywhere throughout your post, I will kindly ask you to use the spell check every now and then. Please save us from having to hire Elementary school teachers to translate bad typos; we don’t have that kind of money to pay for the mistakes of other people. :(
6. The consent rule is not an option in the Battle Arena! Upon entering your character in a fight, you have immediately consented to your character’s death if the roleplay deems necessary. Now, I’m sure if you’re very nice and brown nose a little to the person your character is facing, they will let you live. If you were battling Nova, you wouldn’t get the chance to suck up. So don’t throw a hissy fit because your character was killed; remember that this rule has been here from the very beginning.
7. Don’t let the consent rule scare you into not joining a battle. If you’re itching for battle but your opponent doesn’t want to let your character live if you roleplay, make another account and another character to roleplay with just in case the fight calls for death.
8. There is a magical barrier that keeps ALL MONSTERS inside of the vicinity of the battle arena. Just because your monster has wings and can fly does not mean that you may fly up and out of the arena. Your monster can only get so far before running into the invisible barrier, which will in turn temporarily shock your creature into paralysis. Keep this in mind or I will drill it into you personally.
9. Booby traps are used in the battle arena! Beneath the sandy floor, there are slaves that work the little cranks of the traps! Things such as: Spikes, trap doors, flames, water, foot traps, etc. will be found all throughout the arena. Keep in mind that you MUST PUT ONE TRAP IN ONE OF YOUR POSTS THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE ROLEPLAY. This makes it a lot more interesting.
10. Creatures bleed; it’s a natural known fact. If you get hit, you bleed. Put that detail in your post as you get wounded. If you do not bleed or at least bruise, we will assume that you did not take the hit fairly and we will penalize you for it.
11. Follow every single rule in this listing and you and I will not have to butt heads to keep this little forum running in here. Remember that this battle arena is for fun and it is not something to throw a fit over. Enjoy every bit of it because it’s a great stress reliever to beat up other characters.
Too strict? :(
You'll get over it.
Enjoy!
