Sapphire eyes gazed upon the papyrus before him as he translated the meaning slowly, but quicker than most. It was a fact of life that many within the palace had no education when it came to reading, but Seth wasn't the type to pry into people and force upon them the things they didn't wish the pursue.
Within his right hand was an intricate quill; one used only for writing delicately upon his own papyrus. This scripture was very important to his studies as a spellcaster due to its contents. A spell that harbored the power to turn anything into ice.
This power wasn't to be abused, but Seth found spells like this useful for hot days when he needed a cool place to chill himself before continuing his duties about the palace grounds.
He leaned back into his chair, crossing one thin leg over the other and straightening his robes. Today was a day for alabaster robes with a brilliant light blue trim as well as the jewelry he had to wear to continue looking "like the jewel he was" as some priests would say. How perverse...
On his left side sat a small bowl lined on the inside with various fruits. He had a couple strawberries, some mango, an orange, a few grapes, blueberries and a few raspberries as well.
Using his long finger, he delved into the bowl and popped a blueberry into his mouth, thoroughly savoring the burst of flavor that stimulated his senses. With a small hum, he continued his translation from ancient text to his own personal papyrus for memorizing purposes.

Kisara was starving. The priests said that it wasn't proper to let the princess eat as much as she needed, because she had to maintaining a thin waist line was comme il faut. (("it is necessary" for you those of you who don't speak french))
She finished her last study session for a few hours and made her way over to the dining room to get a clandestine snack, maybe even a meal! As she walked over, she prayed that no one would be in the huge hall with many extravagant tapestries.
This dining room was adorned with many hues of gold, red, and other deep colors. It was beautiful, however "too much" can be just that. She felt oddly out of place when she would walk in, though she had every right to be there.
A pause was taken before she opened the door and to her surprise, it was only Seth that was in there. He sat in his lily white robes, obviously translating something and eating the usual.
Her daddy was always the most healthy eater she had ever known, but she didn't understand how he did it. The only sweets he needed were in the fruits and vegetables that occupied his plate. Which was very much unlike Kisara's eating habits.
"Hello, daddy. You look rather busy, so I hope I am not interrupting you, but do you mind if I join you?"
As she awaited his response, she stood next to a chair. She didn't want to sit down until she was certain that he wanted her there.
They never really spent much time together. He was around a lot when she was a baby and she was still in her dragon form, but after she was forced to inhabit a human-esque frame, he spent less and less time with her.
They spoke when he was teaching her, or when they would have a small conversation. Aside from the fore mentioned times, though, he kept to himself. Not that she could really blame him.
She loved him very much, though. She wished very much that they were closer.

He glanced from his papyrus to his fruit bowl now and then, plotting which piece of juicy fruit he was to eat next. The process of translation was slow and mentally taxing, but he enjoyed the therapeutic properties of keeping himself busy. He had less time to think about his own personal issues with his current life.
He picked up a raspberry this time and just as he was about toss it into his mouth-
"Hello, daddy. You look rather busy, so I hope I am not interrupting you, but do you mind if I join you?"
He would be lying if he claimed that she didn't scare him and his visible jump was enough to prove that. He put the raspberry into the bowl and touched his hand to his beating heart, feeling its erratic beating and hoping it would calm.
When his senses calmed enough, he offered her a small smile and nodded. "I suppose some company would not be too bad. You may sit in this chair." He pulled a chair closer to him and patted the cushion of it, motioning for her to sit.
"Would you like a raspberry? You must be hungry and no one comes into the dining room simply to sit and talk to another person." Seth's sapphire eyes gleamed a little with kindness and understanding for the princess' dilemma when it came to eating freely.
He had given up trying to stay with only a couple meals a day; it was just not him. He was the kind to simply graze on various fruits and vegetables throughout the duration of the day.

Kisara smiled at the man as he jumped some what. It happened to her all the time! She loved him so much, even if they didn't really talk a lot.
His soft voice cut the small silence and said in only the best thought out words -
"I suppose some company would not be too bad. You may sit in this chair. Would you like a raspberry? You must be hungry and no one comes into the dining room simply to sit and talk to another person."
He was always so proper; when he spoke, sat, walked, anything. He was a very beautiful man, the sunlight came out of the large windows and gracefully caressed his face, which made his skin show like porcelain.
"Thank you. I would love some fruit, also, I would like to talk to you if it wouldn't be too much of a bother."
She pulled out the heavy chair and sat down. The seat was very cushioned, which felt good, because she had stood a lot today.
However, the princess was rather short, so the contrast between her and her very tall daddy was almost comical.
The princess looked at the bowl of many assorted fruits. All of which are very beautiful and deep in color, which meant that they were all very juicy and very ripe. She decided on a few of the raspberries and some blue berries.
She looked around and grabbed a napkin so she could put the fruit on, because she didn't want to go and get a plate.
Looking back at him, she smiled and felt a rush of comfort and awaited his response.

His gazed about the room, taking in the various tapestries as well as the light glimmering through the open holes in the walls that they called "windows". Seth had always been fascinated by the architecture of the palace, but knew that even if given instructions he would never be able to put a building together. That job was reserved for the more talented people in life. He preferred to make sense of nothing.
Seth allowed Kisara to get her fruit from his bowl and he looked to his papyrus, making one last translation. He had to finish the thought process before he forgot what he was working on as far as the spell was concerned. Satisfied with his work, he placed the quill down upon the table gently and looked at the woman again.
"What do you wish to talk about, then?" He offered her a small smile, thought he felt a little uncomfortable. It had been weeks since he'd carried on a conversation with someone. He felt out of the touch with the world and all he wished to do was work, work, work, sleep, work and work some more.
Of course... he required nourishment to keep himself alive, but other than that he never really did anything other work.
Whether it was physical or mental work, he was always doing something. This all had some purpose as he just wanted to hide away from the feelings that were festering inside of him; the end result of such emotions were not going to be attractive if he didn't do something to entertain himself.

"What do you wish to talk about, then?" Her daddy said in his one-of-a-kind voice.
Kisara smiled at how soft his voice was, it was sweet, but had a force to it. Well, less of a force and more of a to-the-point tone. He was always such a no-nonsense person.
"What are you working on? I have always been interested in how you translate thing... But I'd never have to patience to do it myself."
The princess hated work. She would much rather go outside and let her imagination wonder. She referred to herself as a free spirit, but never dared say it out loud. Living by someone's rules, other than her own, was unacceptable; which often got Kisara into a lot of trouble.
The princess would often go off with the captain of the guard, Jono. They would play around and he would take her places she had never been and didn't even know existed. This made it even more taboo! Not only was she alone with a guard, he was taking her toward the outside of the palace walls!
How scandalous!
She ate a few more of the fruits and decided to not get anymore when she was done. Kisara knew that she would eat the entire bowl if she could, moderation was not one of her strong points.
A soft breeze flew in and she let it grace her face, as she hated taking what little wind they had for granted. This wind blew the scent of the oils that her daddy was wearing over and into her nose.
It smelled of Jasmine. This smell filled his room and gave her a sort of comfort, she felt safe when she would smell it. It reminded her of him; jasmine was such a rare flower, just as rare as her daddy.
She didn't understand why, but she could just tell he was different. Though she hadn't seen many people in her life, as she had never stepped foot out side the palace walls, she knew that he did not look like any other people.
His brown hair, matched with his blue eyes in such a way that the princess was sure he was very special.
